Electric underfloor heating under stone and tile floors
How electric underfloor heating goes in under a stone or tiled floor, who does what, and why it suits natural stone and limestone.

Why it suits stone
Natural stone, limestone and porcelain hold heat well, so warmth from underfloor heating spreads evenly and the floor stays comfortable rather than cold underfoot. That is why it is so often fitted under kitchen, bathroom and hallway floors.
What we do
We prepare the subfloor and lay the electric heating mats, then lay the tiles or stone over them on adhesive. The mats are left ready for your electrician to connect.
What your electrician does
The final connection to the supply and the thermostat is electrical work, and it is done by a qualified electrician. Planning both trades together means the mats, the floor and the controls all line up.
Planning it in
Underfloor heating has to go in before the floor, so it is worth deciding early. Tell us when you ask for a quote and we will price the floor and the heating mats together.
