Driveways, entrances and kerbing
Driveways, driveway aprons, entrances and kerbing in granite setts and natural stone, built to take the weight of a car.
Driveways and entrances take far more punishment than a garden path, so most of the work is in the ground: dug out, a compacted sub-base built up for vehicle weight, the edges kerbed so nothing creeps, and falls and drainage sorted so water runs away from the house.
We do a lot of driveway aprons, the stretch where the drive meets the road, often in granite setts with a kerbed edge, as well as full driveways, entrance areas and edging. We also lay and top up gravel driveways.
Once the job is finished, we can seal it as an optional extra. We use Lithofin or other premium sealants as a rule, to protect the stone from staining and weather.

Things people ask
What does a locked-in quotation mean?
The price on the quote is the price you pay. Once we have measured up and agreed the work, it does not creep up part way through the job.
Are you insured?
Yes. We hold public liability insurance, which covers the project, our work and the materials. We also invoice electronically, so there is a clear paper trail and no cash changing hands.
Do you take the waste away?
Yes. We are registered waste carriers, so soil, old paving and rubble leave with us and are disposed of properly.
Can you lay floors inside the house?
Yes. Indoor floors are laid on tile adhesive over a prepared subfloor rather than sand and cement: natural limestone and stone, porcelain, ceramic and engineered wood. We can also install electric underfloor heating mats, ready for your electrician to connect.
Do you sell granite setts?
Yes. Natural split grey granite setts, 200 x 100 x 50mm, by the 1 tonne pallet with free kerbside delivery, through our eBay listing. We can also lay them for you as a driveway or driveway apron.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in St Buryan near Penzance and work across west Cornwall: Penzance, St Just, St Ives, Hayle, Helston, Camborne, Redruth, Falmouth, Truro and the villages between.
Do you seal stone after laying it?
Yes, as an optional extra once a driveway or patio is finished, or as a job on its own. We use Lithofin or other premium sealants as a rule.
Can you match existing stonework?
Usually, yes. We source local granite and natural stone and match coursing, pointing and colour as closely as we can to what is already there.
